Sterile liquids for ophthalmic surgery

Sterile liquids contribute to a safe and smooth lens exchange procedure. With dispersive viscoelastics (based on hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) and cohesive viscoelastics (based on sodium hyaluronate) in various concentrations as well as intraoperative irrigation solutions, we offer a broad range of high-quality and sterile liquids for ophthalmic surgery.

Dispersive viscoelastics

Dispersive viscoelastics have short molecular chains and a low molecular weight. They do not lose viscosity when energy is applied and provide excellent protection of intraocular tissue throughout ophthalmic surgery. In addition, they are also well suited for moistening instruments.

Various dispersive viscoelastics with the following concentrations of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) are available.

Available from 1stQ

  • PeHa Visco HPMC 2,0 %
Sterile disposable Luer Lock syringe with 2.0 ml solution and disposable injection cannula
  • PeHa Visco HPMC 2,4 %
Sterile disposable Luer Lock syringe with 2.0 ml solution and disposable injection cannula
Cohesive viscoelastics

Cohesive viscoelastics have long molecular chains and a high molecular weight. They exhibit pseudoplastic behavior and are easy to remove after surgery. Another advantage of cohesive viscoelastics: they maintain space superbly during surgery and thus optimize the performance of capsulorhexis.

A variety of cohesive viscoelastics of differing origins and with various concentrations of sodium hyaluronate are available.

Fermented

  • Pe-Ha-Luron F 1.0 % 1.4 % 1.6 % 1.8 % 3.0 %
Sterile disposable Luer Lock syringe with 1.0 ml solution and disposable injection cannula
  • BioVis 1.6 % NaHa, 1.1 ml syringe, incl. cannula
Intraoperative irrigation solutions: 1st BSS

1st BSS liquids are electrolyte solutions that are adapted to the physiological conditions of the human body. These liquids contain ions and have physico-chemical properties that optimally mimic the natural function of the aqueous humor.

They are suitable for irrigation during cataract surgery and maintenance of the anterior chamber.

Irrigation solutions

  • BSS Distrasol 250 ml, 500 ml
  • BSS BV 25 ml, 500 ml

The liquids are delivered in PE bottles.
